This is something SMB's should make time for. You don't need to invest a lot of time or resources to do this. On an annual, or bi-annual, basis pretend like a laptop containing protected data has been lost or stolen. Create a plan to establish who is responsible for what, i.e. who will be the point of contact for the police, who will oversee customer notifications ... It's a simple step you can take to make sure your SMB is prepared for a security incident.
Cyber Simulation exercise exposes both known and unknown vulnerabilities by putting enterprise defenses under the same duress as in the real and evolving threat landscape.
