Do senior executives value information security?

From Help Net Security:

Do senior executives value information security?

There are some very good points brought up by this study.  One thing that I find disturbing that is not touched upon is that 20% (1 in 5) respondents admitted to taking company data when they switched jobs.  (See Infographic below)  If that many admitted to it I'm guessing the actual number is in the 30-40% range if not higher.

Just think about that for a minute, 1 out of 5 people leaving your organization are taking your intellectual property (IP) with them.  Since most people tend to stay in the same industry there's a high degree of likelihood that they are going to a competitor.  How do you feel about YOUR customer list(s), confidential/proprietary data and other business critical IP being handed over to your competitor???

Maybe it's just me, but I would be PISSED!
