Surveillance court OKs NSA phone metadata collection for six more months

"Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose, well, at least for 180 days," US Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) Judge Michael W. Mosman wrote on Monday, as he jauntily granted an extension to the National Security Agency's (NSA's) bulk collection of phone metadata.

In his 26-page ruling (PDF), Mosman noted that the question at hand was whether the recently enacted USA Freedom Act ended the bulk collection of phone metadata.
